Description
Rare as all get out early 1962 Gibson ES-330 with a stock sideways Vibrola.
The truss rod cover has been changed, and the jack changed.
Nylon saddles are still functional but have some deterioration.
Has had a necessary refret at some point, and shows many scars and scratches of a life well lived.
The Sideways Vibrola is functioning, but the cover is missing and the arm has snapped off short.
Pickups and wiring are original. Pickguard has a little upwards warp. Has had a strap button added to the back of the heel, as these came stock with only one pin near the tail end.
This is no doubt a very bloody special guitar...and tough to find with this configuration.
Stock equipped ES with a Sideways Vibrola is a lovely piece of Gibson history, that predates the Lyre Vibrola.
I'm very much in love with this guitar, and trust me, Slim Harpo songs sound better played on an ES-330...especially of this vintage.
Made in the USA.
