Description
1964 Gretsch Corvette from the last year of the 3 x 3 headstock, before Gretsch moved to the kooky 4 x 2 headstock.
The Corvette was Gretsch's first solid body guitar.
One Hilotron pickup, Burns tremolo (unfortunately the one we have here has no arm).
A couple of changes from stock.
The bridge has been changed to a Gibson ABR-1 reissue. Guard is a replacement. The machineheads have been changed (and there is a small crack in the headstock from the G tuner (small). The nut is also a replacement and the pots are changed too. One knob is a replacement (original is in the case but the set screw is funky) Refretted too at some point.
You say player grade, I say rock n roll grade.
Beaut faded Cherry finish, neck angle is very good, and set up perfectly.
I dig these old Gretsches, always a fun ride, always a good time.
Having a midlife crisis?
Buy a red Corvette.
