My latest love in the shop is this guitar. This is a 1965 Epiphone Texan, in really lovely condition. Some changes have been made from stock, but at the core of it, this is a really fantastic sounding, and indeed beautiful looking acoustic, made alongside Gibson acoustics in Kalamazoo Michigan. Firstly, this has had a refret at some point, fairly recently I'd say, as they are running well over 95%. It has had a new nut, saddle and we would surmise a neck reset at some point. If so, it is a really nice job. Correct modern replacement machineheads too. The bridge is a replacement too, but has been done extremely well. Acoustically, it's beautifully well rounded and for me, just has the perfect balance. There is a pickup installed too should you want to gig this thing. 1 9/16ths nut width. You could drop way more than this on a new Gibson acoustic and I don't think you would be as happy. Made in the USA SN 289373, comes with the original red lined pasteboard case.
