This spectacular Fender Duo Sonic II was given life at Fender’s Fullerton plant 60 years ago and has stood up to times arrow ever since.
Original wiring, pots, switches, guard, neck pickup... the rest has been changed. Body has been stripped back to the wood and refinished in a thin lacquer. Frets have tons of life left on them. At some point in its life an owner carved 'Johnny Ramone' into the back. All machineheads are replaced, and the one at the D-string has been re-re-placed.
The pots are a bit scratchy, but it still plays like a bloody dream and sounds fantastic. The neck has a great slinky feel to it from the short scale, and the pickups are full and warm, and absolutely bark when they're linked as humbuckers.
Comes with its original case...there’s buckets of history and mojo in this thing, and I hate to sell it, but unfortunately I feel this baby needs to continue its journey and spread some more love from 1965.
