1966 Gibson J-45 (USA, Faded Sunburst, Tokai HC)

Description

You know the start of 'Torn And Frayed' on Exile On Main Street' by (of course) The Rolling Stones...well...the intro kinda sounds like this guitar.

Yep, this guitar has a beautiful, woody tone.

Somebody has truly loved this little faded 'burst J-45, plenty of wear near the top of the guard..it has been played. I am sitting here, with this thing on my lap, and I have a feeling that my co-worker may need to pry it out of my hands to take it upstairs to photo it.

It is by no means a cannon, but if you are planning on singing over the top of this guitar (and you are not Jimmy Barnes) it is just the right volume to play sweet sad songs, rockers shoot whatever you want. No splits or headstock nonsense, save for one small finish crack near the E.

Action is beautiful, a joy to play and there is room in the saddle too. Bridge has been reglued at some point and possibly a touch taken off the bottom, but the neck angle is good.

Strap pin added to the neck heel.

Honestly this is just a beautiful guitar..that sounds way too much like the acoustic tone on so many records that I love.

You may think I'm crazy calling this a faded sunburst and not a natural top...but it's definitely there if you catch it in the right light..so cool.
