Description
This is the top-tier ES model from the late '60s. The 355 was Gibson’s Cadillac in the semi-hollow lineup, with gold hardware, bound ebony board, pearl block inlays, multi-ply binding, Lyre Vibrola, and stereo Varitone wiring from the factory.
This one’s seen some changes over the years but still wears its history proudly. The original patent-sticker humbuckers are still in place. The bridge pickup baseplate had bent legs that made it sit awkwardly, so it’s been swapped to a vintage Seymour Duncan baseplate. The original is included. A hole from a mini-toggle being removed can also be seen (study the photos).
The Kluson wafflebacks were swapped for Grovers long ago. It’s been converted to mono and the Varitone has been removed. It’s also had a refret and has clearly been played over the years.
Recently re-loomed with new CTS pots, switch, jack, bridge, strap buttons, and a reglue of the neck tenon. All the original parts that were pulled are included. Seriously though, if you're not bothered about something that's had a life, this ones a absolutely super cool, genuine 1960s ES-355 that is ready to be enjoyed.
