Description
Killer player-grade 60's P-Bass ready to rock for another 56 years! This beast has had some pretty significant changes through its life, but nothing that compromises playability or tone!
The bass has had a great refinish in Olympic White at some point—I’d guess it’s been this way for years based on the wear in the white. It still very much looks like a cracking vintage player. It has had the common addition of a Jazz pickup exactly where you'd expect it to be, and a third knob has been added to control the volume of this pickup. The bass has had a fantastic refret, meaning it plays like a dream all the way up the neck—even on those frets above the 9th that you really don’t need.
Now the other stuff! The neck is straight and true, truss rod works, and the crazing in the nitro on the headstock and back of the neck is just amazing. Some missing finish in patches, but nothing you can feel under your hand when you play. The original guard looks stunning, machine heads have been replaced with ones that fit the look but work like a charm—everything done to make this as good a player as it could be! Comes with an era-correct but non-original hard case. It even has a little sticker on it that was just to cool to remove. You can have that for free if you get the bass, our gift to you.
This really is a chance to get a REAL 60's Fender for the cost of a modern Custom Shop instrument. Don’t sleep, don’t even think—pick up the phone and check your messages, then check the football scores, then check your messages again... then call!
