Description
These late 1960s cherry finished ES guitars have the potential to fade to the most beautiful shades of red. This '68 has faded its way to that perfect 'watermelon' hue, much like what you see on some cherry finished '59s. Nice patina throughout, having lost much of its gloss, the finish has aesthetically softened with age. The lacquer sees fine 'spiderweb' style checking throughout. The original 'patent sticker' humbuckers are intact, sound amazing and have never seen the covers removed. Original 'double ring' Kluson machine heads. Original witchhat knobs. Original ABR-1 bridge with nylon saddles, original 'trapeze' tailpiece. Mother of pearl 'block' inlays. The instrument sees an older re-fret. Replaced strap pins. Includes a period hardcase. Made in USA, serial number 893503.
