1969 Gibson J-50 (USA, Natural, HSC)

SOLD!

Description

Late '60s J-50 that really does sound as good as it looks.

Couple of minor things of note.

The adjustable saddle has been done away with and the bridge filled with a small piece of (barely perceivable) wood. Someone has added a pickup, battery on the block and strap pin jack. Finish has lost a lot of its shine, checking all over, feels incredible to play. Frets show some pitting. The neck is straight and action at the 12th is 2.5mm (Bottom E) and 2mm at the top E. Saddle has 4mm of height, so room to come down in the future. The bridge has had a bit taken off the bottom.

It's a beautiful guitar and I am kinda in love with it, sounds like the acoustic sound on many records I love. I'm trying not to play ' Torn and Frayed' ah...too late.

Made in the USA.

"Well the ballrooms and smelly bordellos

And dressing rooms filled with parasites

On stage the band has got problems

They're a bag of nerves on first nights

He ain't tied down to no home town

Yeah, and he thought he was wreckless

You think he's bad, he thinks you're mad

Yeah, and the guitar player gets restless" - Rolling Stones 'Torn & Frayed'
