Description
1975 Fender Bass VI (USA, Sunburst, OHSC)
From the last year of production we have a 1975 Fender Bass VI in excellent condition. I must admit I was surprised to learn that the Bass VI was still being made right up until 1975..and in fact, it lasted quite a long time in production in its initial run...1961 to 1975.
Surprisingly these were used on more recordings than one can think of everyone from The Beatles to The Beach Boys to The Cure.
A full octave below standard unlocks an ultimate other world of pleasurable frequents lending itself very well to layers in recording.
Adorning the classic offset aesthetic of the era with its sunburst finish, tortoiseshell pickguard, its block inlays, bound rosewood fingerboard and larger headstock.
The felt has been replaced on the mute, and the original case has a bit of a dent in it.
Curiously, this is about as close to a 1960s Fender as a 1970s Fender can get, really feels great to play. I don't know how many Bass VI Fender made in 1975, but I imagine, not many.
