Description
Featherweight feel, vintage charm, and the kind of resonance that doesn’t show up on a spec sheet.
This is genuinely one of the best Musicmasters we’ve had through the shop. Built in 1975, finished in a beautifully aged Olympic White, and paired with a rosewood board that’s dark and even. Well worn nitrocellulose finished neck (as opposed to more commonly poly finished examples). The body wear is subtle and tasteful, with light lacquer checking across the top — all original finish with a creamy tone that only comes from age, not intention.
What sets this one apart is the weight and liveliness — it’s incredibly light, and you feel it resonate against your body even unplugged. Plugged in, the tone is woody, warm, and focused — helped along by a fresh set of flatwounds that complement its short-scale voice without killing the attack.
Simple, soulful, and responsive.
Made in the USA, serial number 586234.
