Description
1976 Fender Stratocaster.
Very lightweight instrument for the era (3.85kg) thanks to a Poplar body.
Pretty unique looking 3 piece body that has a darker strip of timber running above the jackplate which almost has the vibe of some of the decent horizonal 'comp stripe' limited edition Strats that have been coming out of Japan lately.
The burst on this one is vibrant too and the top coat of the lacquer has some great looking checking.
This one has had a heap of player-friendly changes; the entire pickguard assembly has been swapped out with modern electronics.
Pickups are boutique style / vintage style 'cloth-wired' numbers with bevelled magnets and branded '@ tuning' and sound great.
The tremolo assembly has been swapped out with a reissue unit.
Replaced nut (bone) and re-fret.
The guitar is currently strung with D'Addario 11-49's and the neck is sitting fairly straight.
The truss rod is currently completely relaxed off so stringing the guitar with lighter strings would be suboptimal at best, and push the neck into backbow with something like 9's. If you're a player who feels at home with 11's on a Strat, this one is a goodun'.
Despite being a '76 this Strat feels more 1969 than 1979 if you get my drift.
Priced according to the truss rod limitations and modifications.
Made in the USA. Includes a modern brown G&G case.
Serial number 568109.
Weight: 3.95kgs
