A bold slice of late-’70s Gibson weirdness—in the best possible way. The RD Standard Bass pairs Gibson’s offset maple body with a maple neck-through design and an unmistakably aggressive shape. The natural finish over tight maple grain gives it a clean, mechanical look that feels right at home on the more experimental end of the vintage spectrum.
Factory twin humbuckers deliver a thick, dry low-end with loads of midrange push. Controls include individual volume and tone for each pickup, plus a three-way toggle. Comfortable action and a surprisingly balanced feel for a bass with this much visual heft. Heft it has, these RD's are weighty physically, sonically and in presence.
Mostly original, aside from the bridge which is aftermarket, and kind of a necessary evil. Great condition overall with some obvious playwear. Slight delamination to body as pictured but is rock solid. Comes with its original Gibson hardshell case.
