Description
I must admit, I've owned an Explorer. I can get around the original 50's models (but they're worth more than a house in Preston). The solid coloured 1990's and 2000's models, while great instruments, are too much of a contemporary looking proposition for me. I'm not opposed to the 80's Korina models however even those hit 5 digit prices half a decade ago. Is this the one for me? It's heavily played in and exhibits a bunch of honest play wear (yes please). It's a little bit rare thanks to a natural Mahogany finish (that's cool!). A control knob has probably gone flying into a crowd at some stage in history (one knob is replaced). It's cheaper than those mass produced modern custom shops with questionable quality control... I don't know... this one has got me thinking... maybe 2025 marks the year of the Explorer for me. Includes a 1990s era brown Gibson hardcase. Serial number 88251030.
