Description
Let me take you on a journey..way, way back to 1983.
Quiet Riot are ripping it up at the US fest, along with Motley Crue, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Scorpions and others. Quiet Riot were the first of the Glam Metal bands to score a #1 record in the USA, and were riding high on the success.
Quiet Riot's guitar player, Carlos Cavaza strapped on a black explorer shaped guitar for the performance..and yep, you guessed it, it was a Black Washburn A-10, just like this one!
Quiet Riot rocked hard over the next few years until Kevin Dubrow's mouth got 'em in trouble, and later poor (not that) old Kev died of a cocaine overdose...but that is a story for another day.
Anyways, the fact that American guitar players were picking up Japanese made guitars in a very American climate really says a lot about the quality of this Washburn. Set neck, 2 powerful pickups, brass saddles, friendly V neck, wild headstock...peak 1980s. White binding is now cream, White pickups and surrounds are now the obligatory nicotine yellow.
Gold knobs have a handy serrated grip on em..what didn't Washburn think of? (well, in fairness they probably didn't see the death of glam metal coming, but then again who did)
Quality guitar, and still within the realms of affordability for a 45 year old bitchin' guitar. Get amongst it.

"Well, I'm an axe grinder
Piledriver
Mama says that I never, never mind her
Got no brains
I'm insane
The teacher says that I'm one big pain
I'm like a laser
Six-string razor
I got a mouth like an alligator
I want it louder
More power
I'm gonna rock it till it strikes the hour
Bang your head
Metal health will drive you mad
Bang your head
Metal health will drive you mad, all right" - Quiet Riot, Metal Health.
