Description
Well...what we have here is a real oddball..don't ask me how it this all works but this is definitely not the first example. Herb Gastelum, known as one of Fenders best neck makers ever (see the custom shop 90s Telecaster we have for sale at the moment) made the neck on this Stratocaster. All the hardware (bar the electronics) are the very same as Fender put on the Am Stds of the time..Schaller Fender branded tuners, Schaller 2 point trem. This guitar is definitely NOT a partscaster, this is the way it came out, and is quite the anomaly. The neck is stamped with Herb's name but also bears a G Japanese style serial..Aside from all that..this is one fine playing Stratocaster that feels very nice in your hands. Has not had a lot of playtime I don't think, frets are good, paintwork is beautiful. Electronics are definitely Fender Japan...but the definitely neck US made, and the body I'd say Japanese made...either way, it doesn't matter...this is a nice piece of Fender history right here, that you are unlikely to ever see again. Made in the USA and Japan SN G033307 Weight: 3.55kgs
