Description
Now 'eres a whacky one for you. Gretsch Electromatic 5128…and it was made in….Japan!
This is the rare, Japanese market only, Japanese made Duo Jet.
Construction is pretty much the same as the 6128 model, neck is very slightly different, same profile, but has a volute and no lam strip, headstock bears the Electromatic by Gretsch logo. There is no master volume on the horn, and the pickguard is not your standard fare Gretsch one.
Pickups are the same as you would find in a Duo Jet from the same period, and this guitar even sports a USA made Bigsby B7 that was obviously added by a previous owner.
It is not going to cost you as much as a Gretsch Duo Jet from 95...but for all intents and porpoises, this is the same guitar.
Plays and sounds a damn treat..and a model you are not likely to ever find again..
Made in Japan, comes with a black newish Gretsch case.

"Porpoises are small dolphin-like cetaceans classified under the family Phocoenidae. Although similar in appearance to dolphins, they are more closely related to narwhals and belugas. There are eight extant species of porpoise, all among the smallest of the toothed whales." Porpoise Wikipedia page.
