Rare as all get out (really) Fender Ventures Jazzmaster.
These was indeed the Don Wilson model.
At the time the 3 Ventures guitar players each had a Fender Japan signature model.
Don Wilson a Jazzmaster, Gerry McGee a Stratocaster and Bob Bogle a Jazz Bass.
Even though founder member Nokie Edwards wasn't playing with the Ventures at this time he still got a Signature Telecaster.
These Ventures guitars were the most expensive guitar offered by Fender Japan at the time around ¥165,000 in 1996 (ouch).
The Wilson model came stock with Seymour Duncan pickups, no rhythm circuit and the aesthetic that you see here. In fact all these sig models had kind of 'super hero' mods. Bob Bogles bass, USA pickups and a large pearloid guard, and Gerry McGee's Stratocaster had Lace Sensors and a mid boost circuit.
All that bollocks aside, this is a hot looking Jazzmaster, that was made in such small numbers you are unlikely to see too many in one place.
Good condition all over, and as an added plus, comes with the original hardshell case.
Yep, I know it is a little bit more than the ¥165,000 it was in 1996, (adjust for inflation, if you wish, blah blach) but hey, if the surf is up, you best ride the wave.
