Description
Here's a weird and lesser-known Axis which kind of shouldn't exist and doesn't seem legit - but it does, and it is. USA parts, routing and appointments, but built in Japan. Axis EX were produced in the Twilight zone between 1991-1995, wherein a chap by the moniker Edgard Von Howlin' (or something? memory is hazy) switched from EBMM to Peavey and took his guitar shape with him.
Creme single-ply bound & bookmatched figured maple top in a very swampy green high gloss, basswood body. Asymmetrically profiled rock maple neck (slightly wider on the treble side of centre) and a very very narrow 41mm at the nut, tapering up to 51mm. 22 narrow tall frets on an unfinished maple board with li'l dots. Licenced Floyd, 1 vol, no tone, 3 way switch, USA DiMarzio custom wind pickups. Schaller M6LA Tuners with Pearl buttons, 4:2 config (as is the style).
Definitely a sports mode shredstick. Weighs next to nothing, cutaway is deep, like you're playing nothin' at all (nothin' at all, nothin' at all)
Weight 3.50kg - SN A907901 - Made In Japan, no hard case or bag for this one sadly.
