Description

Early 2000s build Martin 000-28 that's had enough time under tension for the top to honey up nicely and pick up some honest playwear.

Neck geometry could be better on this one, but hear me out. Bass side action at the 12th fret is 2.25mm and the treble side is 2mm. That's low for a Martin. Technically a touch under factory spec. If you like a light, slinky acoustic setup, this thing is absolutely in the zone. The catch is the saddle is also sitting fairly low, currently protruding around 1.5-2mm above the bridge. The bridge itself still appears to retain factory height. So yes, technically both the saddle and action could sit higher with a neck reset in the future, but right now the guitar is functioning as a genuinely great player exactly as it sits. I've leaned into its strengths and strung it with 11-52s. As a low-action fingerpicker or couch strummer, it really works. To regain full factory adjustment range, it'd eventually want a neck reset, but if you already like the setup, that's largely academic.

Trying to be hyper conservative and transparent here.

So this one is priced accordingly and sold as is.

If you're the sort of person who subscribes to the "shuddup and play yer guitar" school of thought, this one's a ripper. Save yourself the cost of a neck reset, enjoy a genuinely opened-up 000-28, and get Champagne acoustic tone on a Cola budget. Yeehaw.
