Description
A great example of the HD-28V from Martin’s 175th anniversary period, and a model that really nails the vintage spec without feeling precious. This one has a nicely aged top, the comfortable V neck profile, herringbone trim, gold tuners and a very tidy set of East Indian rosewood back and sides. Grained ivoroid binding and heel cap are present, along with the thicker celluloid faux tortoise pickguard that suits these guitars so well. A strap pin has been installed at the heel. There are quite a few aesthetic impressions to the soundboard, but nothing structural, and in many ways it makes this a perfect candidate for someone who actually wants to gig the guitar without worrying about keeping it mint. A pickup has been installed in the past, evidenced by a widened strap button at the base of the guitar. An awesome model that sounds as good as you would expect from a vintage-leaning HD-28V. Serial number 1284835 Includes a non-Martin hardcase
