Description
Here's a very neat J-45.
First, it's black... tick.
Second it's got an absolutely gorgeous neck... this 'Tuxedo' aesthetic is very much something we only saw in ' 67- '68 which meant historically while you had the meanest looking J-45 on the block you also for better or worse had to accept a narrow nut and a very slim late 1960s neck profile... this guy here has a profile that leans way more 50's than 60's.
Nice and broad shouldered but with not quite as much depth as a super thick 50's neck. I dig it.
Beyond that this one is gig ready... fitted with an LR Baggs AND it's got 3 on a plate Kluson tuners for a proper vintage aesthetic.
I'm going to run with the assumption that the 'Custom Shop' designation on this one is likely going to be attributed to that great neck. Oh also, the neck geometry is great. Action is sitting pretty. 2.5mm bass side, 2.2mm treble side with plenty of saddle left to work with too (5mm).
Guitar overall is exceptionally clean for a black acoustic over 10 years old. 4 inch but very thin scratch on the rear of the instrument which is only noticeable in particular light...
If you've been waiting for a J-45 with something extra, this might just be the one for you!
