A defining presence of the 1980s new wave and avant-prog landscape, the Steinberger GT boat paddle. You either love these things or you hate them. Personally, I love them... Preferably in their original form with headless graphite necks, phenolic fingerboards, symmetrical body, fold-out leg rest and transposing tremolos... all of which were a total innovation. At some stage in the late 90s / early 2000s Gibson acquired the brand and all of that slowly went away. The Spirit is made more conventionally out of basswood. They did however retain the decapitated neck and body designs, EMG-style pickups and the "spirit" of the originals... if not the soul. The benefit of that is they're much easier and cheaper to get your hands on. This one is "hot rod yellow" and will fit in the overhead locker of any commercially flown aeroplane, the boot of any commercially driven taxi, and probably even the oar rack of any commercially available kayak.
