Description
Everyone loves a Hummingbird! Here we have an early 1970s 'Custom' spec model. Gorgeous fading to the original sunburst finish. Classy looking block inlays with a rosewood fingerboard. Celluloid pickguard in great condition. Oozes that 1970s studio rock sound. Beautifully focused mid-range. These old things sound like you're running them through a studio compressor even when you're on your porch.
So here is the Good, The Bad, and The Ugly:
Bridge been replaced and has been shaved slightly. Saddle has been skinnied. Tarnishing to metal parts with age. No cracks or breaks, however the neck has been given a 'poor mans' neck reset by cutting through the heel, and sealing the gap with epoxy. A bolt has also been put through the heel (quite cleverly disguised). It would be hard to reset the neck again from here, however, the action is sitting pretty at the moment and probably will stay this way for a long time to come. Even with the numerous mods to keep it up and running, this guitar still sounds great, and is a joy to play, and has been priced accordingly.
