This is a neat one. 'Custom Order' stamped Japanese Tele. Uncommon 'White guard' aesthetics. US Blonde finish over an Ash body, which is light and resonant. Loooveely soft V profile to the maple neck. Factory USA pickups with cloth wires. Full-size pots. Evidence of a sticker removed below the bridge, which has marred the finish. Some nice vintage fading to the finish overall. A pair of significant chips to the upper bout of the guitar (that area you'll typically see armwear on a relic guitar). Someone has been smoking around this one too... some cigarette burns on the headstock. Taking the pickguard off will reveal a darker patch of finish. While the frets and truss rod are great, there is some (aesthetic) denting to the fingerboard in places between the 8th and 10th fret. Sans serif 'MADE IN JAPAN' on neck heel. 'Custom Order' stamped on neck heel. K Stamp there too. I'd be suggesting this one to be early 1990s based on features and stampings... unfortunately the pots, while full size are Japanese made (no dates) and the neck heel has no legible date scrawl. One of my favourite Teles in the shop regardless! Weight 3.6kg. Serial number #A065496.
