Description
Japanese-built F-style mandolin from the early 1980s, produced under the Grassland name by Tahara Gakki for Kawase Musical Instruments. The GL-L.L is a Lloyd Loar inspired model with traditional carved construction and a thin lacquer finish.
Solid spruce top with solid maple back and sides, maple neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge. Lively, clear response with good projection and a focused top end. Well suited to bluegrass but versatile enough for folk and acoustic styles.
Presents in very good condition for age with light, honest wear. A high quality Mandolin (comparable to high spec Kentucky mandolins of a similar era).
