Description
Here's a hot one. Gibson Les Paul Standard from 1975.
Yep, there was a time where if you wanted an LP you could only get a Les Paul with mini humbuckers.
This is an early Standard, 1975 to be precise. Even has the 'Deluxe' decal on the back of the headstock, as Gibson didn't even have Standard decals at that time. Routs under the pickups are for full size humbuckers and are factory routs..the finish is over the top.
You will notice a couple of changes from stock. Knobs are replacements. Standard truss cover is a replacement. Grovers installed. Black plastics pickup rings and poker chip are replacements. Original T Top pickups in place as are the original pots that date to the 35th week of 1975.
I love Les Pauls so I refuse to describe how it sounds and plays (obvious bias) ..but lets just say it sounds perfect playing Nazareth riffs (if you don't know who Nazareth are ask Axl Rose)
Frets show some pitting, and yes this guitar has had a refret in its life.
All in all a banging mid 70s Les Paul Standard that was made in the USA and comes with the original case, sans original handle (now a piece of red rope) The case has 2 stickers on it..one a weed leaf and the other 'Enjoy Cocaine'* God bless the 1970s.
