Rocker grade Black Telecaster.
Rumour is, when Fender released their International Series, in order to 'buy in' each Fender Dealer had to purchase one in each colour (or color as they say in America). So it is not unreasonable to think..maybe Fender had a few lying around at the end of it all. This one was factory refinished a classic Black over Capri Orange...maybe it was an easier sell in '81..I don't know...
This guitar has had a changed guard, and neck pickup . Switch tip and knobs have been replaced too....with non matching cool looking gold ones.
Neck finish is smooth, but a little rough and ready...gosh that makes no sense at all...ok, neck finish is smooth...but 'looks' a little rough and ready.
All in all, this is a rad Telecaster to play...and will do the Stranglers 'Peaches' guitar sound to a tee.
Frets are hanging in there.
You know this thing is going to look cooler the older it gets as that Capri Orange pokes out under the Black.
Comes with the original Fender plastic moulded case that it came with in 1981.
