1988 Martin 0-16NY (USA, Natural Satin, HSC)
The 0-16NY was a model introduced in the early 1960's as Martin's first 're-issue' model... harking back to the construction style and sizes of the turn of the century parlours people started getting excited about.
However... No one cared about the folkies in 1988... this is one of only twelve 0-16NY's delivered in that year before the model was completely axed in the early 1990s.
In terms of production numbers this thing is staggeringly rare.
Has plastic clear film on soundboard acting as a faux pickguard.
Small impression on the bass side shoulder but nothing structural.
Good neck geometry, particularly for such a lightweight, non-truss-rod-equipped build.
Amazing fingerstyle guitar.
Very enjoyable to plink away on.
Super dynamic.
SN 479724.
Includes a rickety but vibey 1960s Stamford case.
