Early, early SB-2 with a low serial number. A previous owner, possibly a long long time ago has added 2 switches to the front and has modified the wiring layout. One switch currently does.. nada.. the other turns the bridge pickup on and off. Control knobs have also been toyed with, you've got a pair of master volumes and where the tone control used to be.. you got it.. nada. Anywho, could be reverted back to stock if you want.
Pearl White is really the most gorgeous of colours..and in my opinion, these early Yamaha instruments don't just look like they come from another time, they look like they come from another planet...in the best kind of way. Couple of holes on the back, possibly from strap pins, who knows..Genuine wear, tear of a life...uh um well lived. Frets have some pitting..but plays and sounds..like it is indeed 'from another planet' which reminds me to listen to 'The Only Ones' more often. What more can I say..this is a very special bass, that needs a very special home, and short of the world stopping...should be here for another 60 years.
